Le Repas des Fauves – Touring

Touring show with theatre competition, Meiringen Swiss Volkst Theater Festival.

In 1942, in a suburban town, Victor gathered friends to celebrate his wife Sophie’s birthday, despite the restrictions of the occupation. The warm evening is suddenly interrupted by gunfire outside: two German officers have been shot. SS Commander Kaubach storms into the apartment and demands two hostages to replace the fugitives. The guests have two hours to choose among themselves…

I played one of the seven guests, Pierre, a blind veteran who, like all the others, was constantly present on stage.

Following the success and enthusiasm around this play in November 2022, the Théâtre du Pavé troupe from Villeneuve was invited to the German-Swiss Amateur Theatre Festival in Meiringen (Volks Theater Festival), where we were awarded the Special Prize.

We also took the opportunity to perform the play several times in Valais, including at the Aula de la Tuilerie in Saint-Maurice and at the Petit Théâtre of the Vièze in Monthey.

“After the Théâtre de la Tournelle (Orbe) in 2019, the Théâtre du Pavé – Marcel Gippa (Villeneuve) enchanted this year the German-Swiss audience in Meiringen. Both troupes participated out of competition at the festival, yet the quality of their performances was recognized each time. In 2019, the Théâtre de la Tournelle won the FSSTA Prize one week after Meiringen, and this year, by decision of the organizing committee and the jury, a Special Prize was awarded to the Théâtre du Pavé: the Harasse d’Or.
