Friendship is being able to be yourself, it is understanding without communication, it is going where it is forbidden, it is understanding sentences without having to finish them, it’s not liking your friends’ friends but seeing them anyway, it’s forming a sect of dragonflies in the dark, it’s eating set squares, falling back into childhood, not doing what you promised you would do…
Moving from one form of theatrical expression to another: improvisation, writing, literary texts, film dialogues, memories of other black and white films, dance, song, to explore with the pupils situations where friendships are born, experiences of friendship, but also the breakdown of friendships. The work process requires the pupils to dare to take a risk, to feel the thrill of the game. To dare to experience this thrill, we tried to understand how we could create circumstances that would allow us to play in this way. How we listen to what is happening and allow ourselves to respond without preconceiving our reaction. How we stand ready to welcome what we have allowed to happen, to let the stage write its own reality, even during the performance.
