A true play within a play, ‘Who Wants to Kill the Grand Vizier?’ tells the story of a film crew who want nothing more than to kill Franck Bernard.
Mr Bernard is a detestable actor. He is hired to play a Grand Vizier whose mission is to save a princess in the world of One Thousand and One Nights.
Moving from ‘acted’ scenes to ‘real’ scenes, this fast-paced play swept the audience along in a crazy story full of twists and turns, with puns and breathtaking visual effects.
Playing the supporting role of Jean-Luc, the film’s director, I was largely responsible for the pace of the play. In fact, I had to direct the audience and the actors from one scene to the next in the film. We therefore had to constantly adapt our acting. In a way, the audience was part of the show.
